APAIE starts with Czech universities under the Study in Czechia banner

The 17th annual international education event in the Asian region has started today.

The Asia-Pacific Association for International Education today launches its 17th conference on "Collaborating for sustainable impact: partnerships across the Asia Pacific", this time in Perth, Australia. The APAIE 2024 Conference and Exhibition, a major event in the field of international education in the Asia-Pacific region, will bring together up to 2,500 international education professionals, representatives from universities and ministries of education, educators, researchers, and other stakeholders from around the world. Czech universities have the opportunity to present their activities here and establish new international contacts. 

Last year's edition welcomed a total of 417 universities and other organisations from 36 countries. This year, the following ten Czech universities will be attending the conference as part of the Study in Czechia national stand, which we traditionally organise:

• Brno University of Technology  

• Czech University of Life Sciences Prague  

• Charles University  

• Institute of Technology and   
  Business in České Budějovice  

• Masaryk University  

• Mendel University in Brno  

• Technical University of Liberec  

• University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice  

• VSB – Technical University Ostrava

Western Australia's Minister for International Education, David Templeman, was among the keynote speakers at the opening plenary, which welcomed participants at the start of the program. Subsequent speakers included Venky Shankararaman, President of APAIE and Vice-Chancellor for Education, Singapore Management University; Michael Wear, Mulgana Traditional Owner and CEO of the environmental and sustainability project Tidal Moon; and Barbara Lung-Jones, Director of Global Curtin, Curtin University.

Until 8 March, the conference will offer sessions focused on international education of students, faculty, and staff, recruitment strategies, and discussions on socio-cultural, economic, and demographic issues. In addition, thematic blocks will also address partnership building in improving the quality of education, sustainability, or digital technologies.
